StaffPad can optionally collect some Data, on an opt-in basis, through a reporting mechanism built into the Application. We take your privacy very seriously, and use any Data collected in a secure and controlled way, solely for the purposes of improving the application via future updates.

Types of Data collected

Among the types of Data that this Application collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: pen/ink stroke and vector data, and any associated MusicXML data. This is collected via an opt-in process, and on a single bar basis, through the ‘report bar’ mechanism found within the app’s ‘pending bar’ dialog.


Users are responsible for any Data of third parties obtained, published or shared through this Application and confirm that they have the third party's consent to provide the Data to the Owner.

Methods of processing

StaffPad Ltd processes the Data of Users in a proper manner and shall take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorised destruction of the Data.

The Data processing is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organisational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to StaffPad Ltd, in some cases, the Data may be accessible to certain types of persons in charge, involved with the operation of the site (administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration) or external parties (such as third party technical service providers, mail carriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies) appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Owner. The services contained in this section enable us to analyse ink strokes and the individual user’s personal handwriting style, which can be used to enhance the core music recognition engine inside the app via future updates.
Analytics collected directly (This Application)
This Application uses an internal analytics system that does not involve third parties.
Data collected: User’s can choose to ‘report bars’ which have failed recognition. Clicking ‘report bar’ within the application will upload the single bar of ink/stroke vector data to us’s servers, hosted securely and on private, publicly inaccessible servers. Only the ink stroke and vector data is collected, and is used to help us improve the quality of recognition for future updates and versions. After the data has been analysed, we may keep the reported bar in order to run unit and comparison tests on the data set collected.

This Application may track Users by storing a unique identifier of their device, for analytics purposes or for storing Users' preferences.
